Worked a long day today, 7:30 am till 10 pm, and then had to come home and have a competition with my GP husband about who had the rougher day. I nearly bumped off someone from ICU, trying to sedate them for a procedure in radiology (which are nicknamed “the killing fields” for good reason). That would have been a clear win if I’d actually succeeded in precipitating their early demise, but luckily every time I went back to see the patient back in ICU over the course of the evening he looked better and better, so hopefully I’ve got away with that one. In which case, my husband’s three depressed and suicidal patients put him ahead.
