I have decided that it’s very important for me to live in the present. It helps me to be mindful of the here and now. No use getting caught up thinking and talking about what’s been and gone, whether it was a one time thing or a repetitive habit, or something unfinished. Similarly, we should leave the future as a mysterious unspoken-of place, whether we mean actions that are just about to happen or if they’re way off in the distance.
Unfortunately, my French teacher is very unsympathetic about these aspirations of mine. In fact you could say she got quite tense when we talked about it this morning.
