Now we’re not cooking

Had our first meal out today since before Lockdown, lunch at the popular local restaurant The Front Room. It was packed with people enjoying the mild autumn weather dining al fresco in the garden bar, lots of us with dogs, having walked there along the beach. Our dogs were washed and brushed and at their most adorable, ready to mingle. Unfortunately, they were too awkward to socialize, and just huddled under our table, glaring balefully at passers by.

Everything appeared very normal, apart from us having write our contact details down on a form when we first sat down. The food was delicious but seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to arrive. Maybe we’ve been spoiled by the very prompt service chez nous the last couple of months.

The grown ups at our table were excited to have their first barista coffees for months, but I had to confess I’ve never had to stop during lockdown. For some reason, our hospital Mojo branch never had to close, even in level four. I guess they were designated essential once it was recognized doctors run on coffee.
