There is a special place in Hell for people who enthusiastically recommend a book which I then don’t like, but feel obliged to persevere with. How far through a book do you have to get before you can really say you’ve given it a chance? Although, to be fair, I’m not particularly pushed for time just at present. Plus, it’s probably safe to say I’m harder to please than usual right now. But still!
