Times are getting desperate. We are down to expensive bottles of bubbly only in the fridge, left over Christmas presents from years gone by that somehow the time was never right to open. I guess that time has finally come. Rather than grabbing a bottle at random, I got my daughter to google the price of each bottle so we could open the cheapest first. I’m not even certain there’s any logic in that, but it felt the right thing to do. I’m sure my Dad would approve (within the limits of what he could possibly comprehend out of the current situation, considering he’s been dead nearly thirty years). And that is why we’ve ended up with a bottle of Piper-heidsieck. The girls don’t love the taste so have added some peach schnapps, to add insult to injury.
