When I was at university, there was a condition that all of us used to suffer from, from time to time: Med Student’s Disease. This was when you recognised in yourself a number of signs and symptoms from whatever illness you were studying at any particular time. Thus I discovered I had lung cancer, toxoplasmosis, tertiary syphilis, and paranoid schizophrenia, to name just a few, over the years.
The situation is very similar now, with Coronavirus. Over the past fortnight I’ve had: palpitations (viral cardiomyopathy), fever, headaches, a runny nose, sore throat, cough, wheeze, shortness of breath, fatigue, insomnia, and muscle aches. It’s exhausting. And I know that most likely I’m completely well.
