This time yesterday I was pondering what to do on Wednesday evening – go to the French film festival movie I had tickets for, or go out with my walking group for a few hours hiking over the hills in Wellington’s green spaces. Well, both of those events are now cancelled so no decision necessary. Instead we will have 80% of our immediate family under the one roof for the first time in ages, as long as the youngest manages to catch her flight from Dunedin tomorrow.
The other 20% of the family is still safely ensconced in self isolation in Ottawa, although there is some light on her horizon – she’s been seconded into the local division of the humanitarian mission of kosher bagel delivery. Well, people still have to eat and it will get her out of the house.
