Our schnoodles have had their summer trim. Ruby, our most human-like and neurotic dog, was terrified when the dog groomer appeared at the front door. She ran into my daughter’s bedroom and hid under the covers, making the whole bed shake with her pitiful shivering. Here she is, having finally been rooted out, resigned to her terrible fate.
An hour later, she was back, excited and running around like a little puppy. It’s been a few days now, but she’s absolutely ready for the long hot summer promised by all those beautifully flowering pohutakawa trees around Xmas. It should be starting any day now…
