Sisters

Went to see Little Women tonight with the newly nose beringed daughter. It was lovely. It’s a great new adaptation, using flashbacks rather than telling the story in a more linear way. It told all the girls stories more fairly too, rather than just being about Jo all the time. You come away not hating Amy as much as usual. Also, and I’m not usually one to bodyshame, but Timothy Chalomet was way too skinny.

We both laughed and cried, and it was a great bonding experience. This was good for me, because she had just discovered that the post on my blog the other day was entirely written by me, and no one else was involved, not even the mysterious Abby who seems to want to get up in everyone’s business all the time. I had to try and explain it was my cowardly way of saying the unsayable with satire. It seems a lame excuse now, and so it is. Post in haste, repent at leisure, indeed. It turns out the ring can be flipped up and hidden away if the occasion demands it, which seems a useful safety mechanism. (I bet she never does it on principle). Anyway, all is forgiven. Kind of. I’m feeling greatly relieved, at any rate. And after all that, the ring is growing on me. Maybe I’ll get one in thirty years time.
