Eau de

I am in dire need of some new perfume. The best perfume I ever had was “Beautiful” which I wore for years. My husband recommended it to me when a friend’s toddler accidentally spilled a bottle over himself, and my husband liked the smell. Of course I told him he only liked it because it reminded him of little boys, but that joke got old really quickly. After 15 years I thought it was time to try something new, but I’ve had no luck since. My current perfume smells OK but seems to disappear really quickly. I tried some Chanel No 5 on the cruise (lots of empty duty free shops – I think I made the shop assistant’s day), and the girls and I agreed the smell wasn’t good on me, but boy it had longevity! I could still smell it hours later.

I have an acquaintance on Facebook who has a pet peeve (I’ve talked about those before) that he likes to post about: why do women, particularly older ones who should know better (grrrr) insist on wearing overpowering amounts of perfume? It seems to especially annoy him at the supermarket, for some reason. To which I say, in my G rated fashion, go away with your stale, pale, male views. We are sick of being subjugated by the patriarchy. Women, wear what you like – especially to the supermarket.
