So it turns out the phrase ‘you can’t go home again’ is not a gently wistful observation, but actually more in the nature of a rather strict instruction.
Spent the weekend driving around parts of Auckland where I grew up and it gave me quite a feeling of melancholy. Mind you, I get the same sensation in many New Zealand cities where I have any sort of history – Christchurch, Dunedin – but this may be more of an indication of my problematical relationship with regret than anything more sinister. (Oversharing? Me??)
Just wondering how the troops are getting on with this dilemma from the past (there’s an excellent photo as an example but my IT skills have not extended to being able to include it):

Cut & paste:
Cusack says he, too, has seen younger cruisers embracing the opportunity to dress up.
“Especially among people that are hardcore fans of the movie Titanic, they want that whole experience,” he says. (Well, most of the experience.)
While my daughters are inherently lazy (from their father’s side), they would have liked to have dressed up a bit more. Certainly the dress code is very casual on this trip.
