All good things

Last full day in Niue, how has it all gone by so fast?

We finally managed to do our oft postponed snorkeling trip, which was excellent timing. We pootled around the bay in the dive company’s zodiac* first and then got in the water at the same spot we dived at yesterday. No dolphins, unfortunately, but plenty of other sea life. In addition to everything we saw yesterday, there were also sharks and barracuda. Terrific. I have to say I prefer snorkeling to diving. Much simpler, and it also feels so much more like flying, especially when the water is so clear.

We have all really enjoyed Niue and hope to return again, hopefully in winter when the whales are here.

Poor Simon has had to log into his work computer a few times to keep on top of everything and prevent next week from being a nightmare, but luckily for me I have been able to completely ignore work. Fabulous. I feel so refreshed.

Have finished my Agatha Christie. Miss Marple is really extraordinarily clever.

Home tomorrow.

*I don’t know: it’s a white inflatable boat with an outboard motor. I’m guessing.
