A mixed day today. The sea still a bit rough in spite of the hot sunny weather, so our organized snorkeling trip postponed for another day. However, this didn’t stop us sneaking off for our own snorkeling trip just down the road. We had to leave Simon behind as he’s a bit of a girl’s blouse when it comes to water safety. The rest of us had a great time, although the water did throw us around a bit at times. We spent most of our time in a protected bay, popping out briefly into a channel to see bigger fish in the deeper water whilst keeping our eyes peeled for boats and waves that might bash us against the coral reefs. The curious and deadly venomous sea snake was a highlight.
On the down side, I am between books, having finished The Hogfather. This gives my life a sad and unfocused quality, lacking in depth and meaning. So that’s bad.
update: my daughter has lent me Twilight, the perfect holiday read. Plus, Simon has (bought and) brought me a Pina Colada as it’s happy hour. Life is good again.
