The past couple of days have been made way more exciting by the unexpected discovery of a hidden talent for pétanque. Yesterday evening our team of a German, a Kiwi, and a local representative took on a selection of Provençals and won convincingly 13:6.

Celebrations after a game traditionally feature the rather nasty aniseed flavoured liquor called pastis. Luckily I managed to avoid this by drinking vin rosé, which is another famous local drink (although I noticed that this one came from a cask).
