Dog; bird; boy – or actually virtually any living thing, but most likely young, and probably male.
Why? I don’t know. This is the language of social media, and especially memes, and usually sweet and joyous ones. I love English that you can do this. Maybe it’s a corruption, but it’s also fun and charming. Much better than French, which is protected by a bunch of stuffy academics in order to remain immutable (well, that’s the official line, but of course the young people do their own thing there too, I’m sure).
