One for the ladies

Another tv show I used to love was UFO. It was a sci fi show set in the distant future: 1980.

Like most sci fi, it actually said more about the time it was made than the future. And it was the age of the White Man (and possibly also pretty young ladies with purple hair in this instance). Honestly, where were the minorities, the disabled, or indeed any women who weren’t young purple haired and pretty? And of course that went for just about any other tv show around that time as well. Clearly the libtards hadn’t yet foisted diversity on everyone with their “PC gone mad” culture as yet. It seems incredible that we didn’t even notice that white male faces were the only ones we saw on the screen.

In contrast, this sign for “roadworks ahead” that we saw in Rarotonga last week was really noticeable. I don’t remember when I last saw a “men at work” sign in NZ. I’m not wrong, am I? This is quite old fashioned?

Photo also featuring a daughter and a couple of local dogs that decided to join us on our walk (nicknamed DogDog and Bear).
