Onto a good thing

When I retire I’m going to set up a car hire business here in Raro. It’s basically money for jam. We are paying an eye watering amount to rent a very elderly Toyota Corolla hatchback for the week. It doesn’t have a remote – I suppose we should be grateful it even has central locking. It’s quite battered and tired looking but there aren’t any actual dents (that we’ve spotted so far). We’ve deduced it’s a Japanese import because there is a screen which says in English and Japanese “please insert cd or map” (and does nothing else). Also, when we park and try to leave the car, a very gentle and caring lady says to us something we don’t understand in Japanese. I’m hoping it’s something like “have a nice day!” “ensure the handbrake is on!” or “don’t forget your keys!” rather than “get out of my car, stinking round-eyes!”*

*can someone please let me know if this is racist? My daughters, who are my usual guides on these matters, have never heard of the insult “round eye!” ( I might have got it from reading my older brothers’ Commando comics as a child. I expect it would probably be good if it died out as an anachronism. )
