Did some mother/daughter bonding the other day, and went on a frog hunt.
It was lots of fun actually, and we found plenty of what we were looking for, once we figured out that nocturnal amphibians are probably easier to find at night. It was all in the name of science, too, I might add. A university sanctioned field trip, which is how I was going to explain it to anyone who tried to take us to task for trespassing.
We learnt a lot, as well – for example, that gumboots are quite a bit less effective at keeping water out if the level of water in the pond is higher than the top of your boot.
