Did one of those hop on – hop off bus tours today. It was great, and gave us plenty of choices. For example, did we want to sit in the blazing sunshine in the 31 degree heat on the top deck of an open top double decker bus, or would we rather roast in the stifling temperatures inside? Anyway, it was excellent, and took two hours to hit all the highlights of the city.
At one point our attention was directed to the Finance Museum, which got me very excited. One of my daughters loves everything to do with economics, and they told us that this was one of the best in the world, and people come from all around to see it. Unfortunately, it turns out I had misheard our tour guide, and she had actually been pointing out the Fine Arts museum. Curse that French Canadian accent!
After the tour, we had lunch in a vegan restaurant in the gay village, which I believe is called virtue signaling. Anyway, it was delicious. We tried walking to the botanical gardens from there but got waylaid by the most fabulous shop. It was the first time I had ever heard the term “larping” – live action role playing. It’s like extreme cosplay. The costumes were amazing.
These guys must have so much fun. Shop details on request.
We’ve got a fireworks boat cruise tonight, so decided that discretion was the better part of valour (i.e. we bailed) and Ubered home to recruit our resources (nap) before the evenings festivities.
