A fabulous new art installation has appeared at our place in Waikanae. The artist has produced a series of faux portraits in the style of naive art and yet in a stroke of brilliance has managed to defy classical expectations by deliberately disguising the actual physical appearance of the subjects he has ostensibly set out to portray. It is a tour de force and could well be the start of a long and illustrious career for this important emerging new artist.
“Alex” is the undisputed piece de resistance and my personal favourite.
