Got the car back safely! The daughters are also OK, although they both have more holes in them than when they left. Extra ear piercings are pretty low on the scale of self mutilation I suppose (I assume it’s just ears?) There have been a few wistful discussions about tattoos but things haven’t gone that far yet as far as I know. Not the sort of thing we used to do on summer holidays but there’s no use pining. Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be.
The car was returned in very good condition actually. It has been thoroughly cleaned – it was certainly uncontaminated by petrol.
