Wonder what all the motorists were thinking as I whizzed past them yesterday afternoon when they were stuck in gridlock due to the unfortunate Terrace Tunnel incident? “Look at that carefree young woman on her bicycle! Wish I was out there having fun rather than trapped in this over heated tin can. I’m going to trade it in tomorrow for an ebike and change my life!” It may be what they were thinking, but if so it wasn’t showing on their faces.
There was a cruise ship in the harbour yesterday as well. I wonder what they thought about the whole business? I suspect in the good old US of A our man would have been dropped by a bullet from any one of a number of firearms within a hundred foot* radius before he’d even had a chance to step away from his vehicle with his butchers knife. And in Saudi I suppose the policemen would have lured him into a nearby building before chopping him into tiny pieces. Am very grateful for the quiet life of the backwater sometimes.
