Well, after all my whining about having to attend prizegiving yesterday, I never ended up going. I had an emergency at work, my last patient ended up as an unplanned ICU admission and I had to stay late to help make sure she didn’t do anything even more embarrassing. I felt guilty about missing the girls last prize giving – but on the plus side, I have maintained my 100% nonattendance record – and I do think it’s important to be consistent. In addition, they overran by a record 1 1/2 hours – I was well in bed by the time everyone got home (although it sounds like I could have caught up on some sleep during the ceremony) – and they didn’t even attend the farewell supper for the leavers. So, not feeling too much FOMO.
