My private list is going to overrun today, but unfortunately probably not late enough so that I have a legitimate reason to miss prize giving tonight. It’s not that I don’t support the celebration of excellence, but actually, when is excellence ever not celebrated? It’s the ordinary, good people who are perpetually overlooked. Loyal, kind friends, who look after others, who care, who are funny, witty and just make everyone’s lives better, good team members, who will make fabulous colleagues in the future, and who will be a pleasure to work with, who don’t bitch behind peoples backs, or whine and complain, who do their bit, who get by on their own merit and not on the backs of pushy, demanding  parents. To you I say: Stand tall! Be proud! Your time will come.
