Went in to the hospital overnight for a potential thrombectomy which didn’t happen because the patient got better en route from Perpignan. Was chatting to the on call radiologist and mentioned the 98 year old thrombectomy from earlier in the day. She was equal parts amused and horrified: “Promise me if I come in with a stroke when I’m 98, you’ll just let me die!” Then she texted the on call radiologist from earlier in the day “did you treat the 98 year old??” but he vehemently denied it. “It wasn’t me! It was Lorenzo!” Clearly there’s more to this whole thrombectomy business than meets the eye – but I’m still a fan.
