A marvel of modern engineering in the foreground, built by impoverished locals in a glorified PEP scheme in the depression. Does a good job irrigating the surrounding area and increasing the drowning risk for local children. The abbey in the background is apparently a masterpiece of Catalan Romanesque architecture but we couldn’t be arsed paying money to go in.

Finally a well earned swim in the pool. Our hotel is a geothermal spa resort but it only smells like Rotorua inside the building for some strange reason.
we could only fit in three courses at dinner so I’ll be hiding from the scary manageress in the morning.
