As we made ready to step out into the pouring rain this morning, the hotel proprietor looked doubtfully outside, and said “Theese never ‘appens! In March maybe, but not in October…!” He shook his head: “You are not lucky!” Oh well, never mind. Don’t feel too sorry for me. After all, you are at work – and I am in France! Plus, it gave me the chance to say “c’est la vie!”
