The Niçoise are very proud of their Italian heritage – every second restaurant is Italian. They pretend to be outraged that the region was gifted to France a few hundred years ago, but considering the basket case economy, outrageous right wing politicians, the mafioso, and the tendency for bridges to fall down randomly in that country, I suspect they are secretly rather relieved.
