Second patient on my list this morning was 240kgs. I’ve been agonizing about it all weekend. He was tall – but not tall enough. Luckily everything went swimmingly. He turned to me when he woke up, and the first thing he said was “You nurses need to be paid more!” Bittersweet. I can’t disagree with him. I’m not actually a nurse of course, but it’s a common misapprehension. He might be pleased to know I’m better paid than a nurse, anyway.
